iScore — your credit record
What is iScore?
A report issued by the Egyptian Credit Bureau. It aggregates your data from every bank and BNPL company, records your payment behavior and scores it. Think of it as a trust balance.
Why does it matter?
A high iScore = a higher credit limit, lower interest rates, and faster approval for loans and credit cards. Some employers even check it when hiring.
When is it created?
From your first installment plan, credit card or loan. Even a postpaid phone bill can start your file.
How do you build it?
1. Buy in installments and pay on time — the history builds itself. 2. Don't open many accounts at once. 3. Use only 30–50% of your credit limit. 4. Keep old accounts open.
How do you check it?
At any bank branch — file a credit inquiry request. Or via the official I-Score website. You're entitled to see it free once a year.
Frequently asked questions
What is iScore?
iScore is your credit rating in Egypt. It measures your ability to repay debt based on your financial history. Scores range from 300 to 850.
How do I find my iScore number?
You can order your report through the Digital Egypt app or the Egyptian Credit Bureau's website. The first report each year is free.
What's a good iScore?
Above 700 is excellent, 650–700 good, 600–650 fair, below 600 poor. The higher your score, the better your odds of a loan or installment plan on better terms.
How do I raise my iScore?
Pay installments on time. Keep credit card usage below 30% of the limit. Don't open many facilities in a short period. And maintain a long credit history.
When does the iScore take a hit?
It drops with late payments (even one day), opening many new facilities, and high credit card utilization. It improves with consistent on-time payments.
